All dental practitioners are permitted to carry out orthodontic treatment that they feel is within their capability.  Orthodontists, however, are the only dental professionals that have been formally trained in orthodontic diagnosis and in the use of orthodontic appliances.  As a result orthodontists are the only experienced professionals and experts in creating natural beautiful smiles.
