Anita grew up in Sydney and completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree at the University of Sydney, graduating with First Class Honours in 1998. Following graduation, Anita worked as a general dentist in a south-western Sydney dental practice as well as working in a specialist orthodontic practice in southern Sydney and Dubbo, NSW. This experience instigated a desire to pursue a career exclusively in orthodontics.
She was accepted into a full time postgraduate specialist training program, completing a three-year Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry (Orthodontics) at the University of Melbourne in 2007. Enjoying the Melbourne lifestyle, Anita stayed in Victoria for an additional two years after graduating, working in private practices in Melbourne and Geelong before returning home to family and friends in Sydney in 2009 and soon afterwards joined the team at Hills Orthodontics.
Anita was the recipient of the Australian Orthodontic Board postgraduate clinical award for Victoria 2008. She has a keen interest in continuing her professional development, participating in orthodontic seminars both within Australia and internationally to keep up-to-date with the latest advances in orthodontic research and treatment standards. Anita has been awarded membership of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh (UK) and the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. She is also a member of the Australian Dental Association, World Federation of Orthodontists and Australian Society of Orthodontists and donates her time to the Give a SmileTM charity to provide orthodontic treatment to needy families.
In her free time Anita enjoys running with her iPod, trying new food, movies, music, reading and travelling. Her husband Marko has also introduced her to the more rugged pursuits of camping, boating and four-wheel driving.
